Landscape Photography

Landscape photography was my beginning and my inspiration. Before I became a fine art photographer I was a painter focusing mainly contemporary abstract symbolism. This path forced me to emphasize composition training my eye to see elements in quadrants. It was easy to take a camera outside and hunt for the perfect shot and me being an outdoor type made it fun too. The experience also pushed me to the limits with equipment trying to get the largest image size with the most detail within the limitations of being portable. From large format film to stitched digital images and infrared in both formats and a range of printing formats means countless hours of experimentation but the knowledge gained was worth every minute and is still one of my favorite things to do. I'm still amazed at the beauty in my backyard!
